Kifubon Project

“I would like to help share this message of hope around the world”

Kifubon means book donation or contribution (寄付本)in Japanese.

The Kifubon project provides a wonderful opportunity for you to directly share this message with people around the world and your ongoing support is most welcome and needed to provide books for the next wave of donation activities which are focused on the new illustrated book

The Pot with the Hole.

The pot with the Hole

Bunya publishing is pleased to announce that over 1300 copies of The Pot with the Hole (illustrated book) have been donated to the Kifubon project which is enough to cover the first phase of donations within Japan.

Many of these books were donated by people in Japan who have read the first book Splitting the Arrow and become fans of Prem and his message very recently.

446 of the books will be donated to elementary schools and 118 to public libraries in the Fukushima region affected by the tsunami in 2011.

570 books are headed for each of Japans orphanages.

A further 238 books will be sent to care centres and hospitals that look after children with severe disabilities. Bunya received a written request from a parent to expand the Kifubon program to include these facilities and we were delighted to respond. Here is a picture we received from the Phoenix care center:

The next phase of the Kifubon donation project hopes to deliver 8700 of the illustrated books to orphanages and educational facilities around the world across all continents. That will lead to a grand total of 10,000 copies donated globally.

In the age we live in with so much negativity and anger, we at Bunya feel that Prem’s message has an important role to play in helping humanity find a way forward.

Here is a letter Bunya received from an orphanage

“We would like to express our sincere thanks for sending Splitting the Arrow to our orphanage. We currently care for 52 children and young adults between the ages of 1~18. Upon reading this wonderful book all the staff were agreed, that this was an ideal book to help nurture positive growth within the children and indeed amongst the staff as well.

We read sections of the book before bed and each child has their own favourite story. The hedgehog character is also a big hit with the kids. Many nights the kids themselves will take Splitting the Arrow from the shelf and demand that we read it to them.

All of us at our orphanage hope that Prem’s message about the importance of having a peaceful heart will spread and be known by all the people of the world.

Please send Prem sincere thanks from all of the staff and children at the Enpukuji orphanage.”

Bunya recently received this picture of two of the children receiving their copy of The Pot with the Hole.
